The Denmark Exchange
The Denmark Exchange is a project that we have recently started. It involves working with an art class in a school in Denmark and sharing different ideas and techniques. While we give them photography techniques to help them expand in the editing of images and photos, they give us artistic techniques. This is a good project because it helps two similar but different subjects mix together in very creative ways and helps to explore a wide range and variety of imaginative techniques.
One of the first things we did for the Denmark exchange project was sending baby pictures of ourselves over to the art students in Denmark. To the side is the image I chose of myself. One of the students in Denmark then took my picture and adapted it in a creative way. This was their end result: I chose this image for my adaptation because I thought it best suit the ideas that i had in my head and I thought that the final result of an adapted version of this image would be quite interesting to look at and evaluate.
This is the adapted version that I created: |
After seeing their adaptations, we decided to do some of our own and so we each chose one of the images of their baby pictures that we wanted to adapt. I chose this image:
To adapt this image on the side to be like this, what I did was I used a ruler to draw vertical and horizontal lines all the way down and across the image. Then, row by i cut up the images into squares and stuck them down in a way so that they were spaced apart. I think that this adaptation worked quite well as it was done hand made rather than using online effects like others did. In total, it took me about 2 hours to complete this, but I was pleased with the end result.
